Vision
The Optometrist will assess the vision of each eye separately and what both eyes can see together. The Optometrist will also examine what, if any, spectacles you need to go about your daily life.
Eye Pressure
Much like your blood pressure, the eyes have to have their pressure checked; this is done by puffing a little air into the eye. There is no pain, although it may feel a little sensitive, this only lasts for a second.
Peripheral Fields
In some cases, the Optometrist may feel it necessary to test your peripheral vision. A machine will shine small lights at the corner of your eyes and you click a button (or say) whenever you can see a light.
Advice
At the end, the Optometrist will explain the overall health of your eyes and discuss any further appointments you may need. The Optometrist will answer any questions regarding the examination or any other concerns you may have.
